The office of the Commissioner of the Revenue is responsible for the assessment of new homes, additions to homes and lots of new subdivisions; the annual assessment of taxable personal properties (i.e. vehicles, boats, trailers, and mobile homes) and business property and equipment; keeping current the ownership transfers of real estate by deed and/or will; updating the county land parcel maps; administering the Land Use Valuation program; and administering the Real Estate Tax Relief for the Elderly and Disabled.

Real Estate Assessment information (VAMANET)
We aim to provide the citizens of Fluvanna County with prompt, professional management of all tax assessment records.
This program allows for the reduction of real estate taxes on real estate that qualifies for agricultural (5 acre minimum), horticultural (5 acre min), forestry (20 acre min) and/or open space uses (10 acre min).

Our office is located at 34 Palmyra Way in the village of Palmyra, VA.
From Richmond or Charlottesville: Take I-64 to Exit 136 (Rte 15), then south on James Madison Highway (Route 15) approximately 8 miles to Main Street. Turn right on Main Street, then take the first left onto Palmyra Way and park on the street. The Commissioner of Revenue's Office is located in the large brick building on the court green.
February 1st – Deadline for returning Personal Property/Business Personal Property forms for the current calendar year
March 15th - Deadline for accepting Tax Relief for the Elderly and Disabled Applications for the current calendar year
November 1st – Deadline for Land Use Revalidation Applications for the next calendar year
