Construction is underway to build the new paved Recreational Access road into Pleasant Grove. The road construction project is to reconstruct the existing 2 tenths of a mile gravel road to two-ten foot lanes, seven-foot shoulders, with four foot of the shoulder designed for a bike lane. After the 0.2 miles, the road will bare right, leaving the existing gravel road and new a construction road ending in a cul-de-sac near hillside of the soccer fields. The project will also consist of constructing a right turn lane off of Rt. 53 with a 150 taper and 200 foot turn lane. The road project is being constructed by the Virginia Department of Transportation and is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2010.
